Endurance and Suffering
Endurance and Suffering, Narratives of Disease in the 19th Century, takes its inspiration from George Henry Fox’s 19th Century book of photographs of people with dermatological diseases, taken for the purposes of medical research. Endurance and Suffering includes epigraphs with notes from Dr. Fox’s case studies, the photographs themselves, and poems written by the prize-winning poet John Wood to accompany them. The book is partially printed in letterpress and contains many fine bookbinding details.
