The Gershman Y’s art council was a hotbed of progressive ideas in the 60’s with the direction of two remarkable women, Audrey Sabol and Joan Kron, who had a mission to introduce New York artists to the Philadelphia art scene. Sabol and Kron came up with the concepts to organize some of the most creative installations of the 60s. A Happening Place chronicles the Arts Council shows and activities prsented between 1962-1972.
